ABOUT THE EVENT
Motivated by #theghostlightproject campaign that seeks “to create brave spaces that serve as lights in the coming years”, we decided to actively listen and create a platform for the values that this campaign brought to the surface: collective action, activism and community commitment.
Every participant will have an opportunity to showcase their work at our Nettles Salon Series, which embraces the spirit of the 17th century French salon gatherings which aim to inspire, provoke and engage through conversation.
If you have any specific materials you would like to work with please bring it on the first day of class. Other than that, bring your creativity and we will take care of the rest.
We speak Spanish, Portuguese and English and welcome everyone in our multi-cultural realm.
There is a $25/person per three hours session which will cover space rental expenses, social media marketing for the salon exhibition, basic materials to start the work, coffee, mate and tea.

INSIDE THE WILD HEART is a site-specific, fully immersive and participatory theatrical experience that transports audiences directly inside Clarice Lispector’s heart. The performance happens in a house setting where the audience can freely walk from room to room following the performers and interacting with the environment. Each room is an art installation inspired by a strong element in Clarice’s writing.
The show is a sensorial experience that encourages audiences to be active participants, rather than passive spectators, and engage with literature on a sensorial level. The show, created by Andressa Furletti and Debora Balardini and directed by Regina Miranda, integrates visual arts, film, music and performance art to embody the writer’s deepest feelings. The show goes along the lines of successful immersive theater productions in NY such as Then She Fell, Queen of the Night and Sleep no More.

Performing as Angela for Group .BR an improvisation for their new play called A Breath of Life inspired by Clarice Lispector writing.
“Maybe I created Angela in order to have a dialogue with myself? I invented Angela because I need to invent myself. Angela is a startled woman. I write at midnight because I am dark. Angela writes by day because she is almost always happy light. She’s not stagnant. Beyond her I can barely see, beyond her begins whatever I don’t know how to say. Between the “yes” and the “no” there is only one way: choosing. Angela chose “yes.” She is so free that one day she’ll end up in jail. “In jail for what?” “For excessive freedom… Because freedom offends.”
